A general purpose nail with a small head, allowing the head to be punched below the timber surface and then filled for a clean, neat finish. A nail punch can be used to ensure the nail head sits below the level of the timber. The nail should be 2-3 times longer than the timber that is being held.
“304” grade stainless (also known as “18/8” or “A2”) comprises of a minimum of 18% Chromium and 8% Nickel. It is the “common” grade of stainless for most applications when looking for a better corrosion resistance than HDG. Ideal for external use and where contact with fresh water is necessary.
“316” grade stainless (also known as A4) has a better resistance to chemicals and chlorides than 304 grade due to the addition of Molybdenum. It is recommended to be used when the application is close to, or in contact with salt water. It is sometimes referred to as “Marine Grade” for this reason.
