Copperised Lead Sheet/Flashing – Vespol
Vespol’s Copperised Lead Sheet/Flashing is a premium weatherproofing material used for roof and wall penetrations, flashing, and waterproof detailing. Combining the flexibility of lead with a copper-coated finish, it offers enhanced durability, corrosion resistance, and an attractive appearance that weathers naturally over time.
Key Features:
- Manufactured from high-grade lead with a bonded copper finish
- Excellent malleability – easily shaped to suit complex roof contours and junctions
- Long-lasting weather resistance, including in coastal and industrial environments
- Copper coating provides additional corrosion protection and reduced staining
- Compatible with brick, concrete, tile, and metal roofing materials
- UV-resistant and unaffected by extreme temperatures
- Aesthetically blends into roofing for a natural, aged patina over time
Typical Applications:
- Roof flashing around chimneys, skylights, vents, and dormers
- Step flashing at wall-roof junctions
- Parapet and valley flashings
- Damp-proofing and cavity trays in masonry construction
- General waterproofing in both residential and commercial buildings
- Important: Australian Standard AS 2904-1986 ("Damp-Proof Courses and Flashings") recommends 20kg/m2 lead sheet for all exposed lead flashing. This gauge is necessary for flashings exposed to direct sunlight in a northerly or westerly aspect. However, in concealed locations, lighter 15kg/m2 sheet is often suitable.
Available Sizes:
- Supplied in various widths and roll lengths to suit project requirements
- Custom sizes available on request for specialised applications
Installation Tip:
Use compatible fixings and sealants to prevent galvanic corrosion. When installing, dress the flashing to follow surface contours, ensuring secure overlaps and proper drainage to prevent water ingress.
